Stampin Up Swap

I can't believe it's been over two weeks since I posted. The weather got cooler, the smoke dissipated and I have been enjoying being outside! I have also been working on swaps for the upcoming Stampin' Up! virtual meeting and my team leads Stampin Spectacular 2020.  We had to use all new products from either the holiday mini catalog or the annual catalog so I decided to make some holiday cards.

I used a card I had made for the case-this-sketch-388 challenge and changed it up a bit. I had to make 31 cards for the swap. This is the first swap I am participating in and I have to say I didn't realize how time consuming this would be! But I finally finished them and got them in the mail yesterday.

Here is the original card and then updated card I used for the swap. I'm happy with the way the swap cards turned out.

Original

New Swap Card

Basically, I changed the middle tree to foil and popped it up in front of the outside trees instead of beneath. I made a bow from linen thread instead of the ribbon and moved the tag to center bottom.

Which one do you prefer? I would love to hear your comments.

I kept the inside and envelope the same with the exception of the sentiment stamped inside.

Here's all the swap cards ready to go.

Thanks for stopping by. If you would like to make these cards for yourself all of the products are available on my shopping page. I would love to have you as a customer.

Have a Hoot Case this sketch #389

We had a few cool,  non-smoky days but today the smoke is back and we are back to the 90’s! I’m anxious to get rid of this smoke and heat. All we can wish for is rain! That will help the fires and hopefully clean some of this smoke out permanently. It’s so tragic that between California, Oregon and Washington over 5 million acres have burnt this summer.

On a happier note today’s card is another Halloween card made with the Have A Hoot stamp set that I am going to enter in the Case this Sketch #389 challenge.

Card Stock

Pumpkin Pie A2 card base, 2 in circle, 3/4 x 3 banner

Whisper White 4 x 5 1/4 embossed with Cobwebs 3D embossing folder, 4 x 5 1/4 inside, scrap

Plaid Tidings DSP 4 x 3, 4 x 1/2  (2), 2 1/4 x 6

Black Glitter Paper  1 1/2 x 4, 6 x 1/2, scrap for owls

Stamp Sets

Have a Hoot

Hallows Night Magic

Dies

Peek-a-Hoot

Punch’s

        2 inch circle

        Bats (retired)

        Banners Pick a Punch

Stampin’ Blends

Cinnamon Cider light and dark

Rich Razzleberry light and dark

Mango Melody light and dark

I glued the embossed whisper white piece on the card stock then layered the Plaid Tidings DSP and then the black glitter paper. I stamped the owl on a piece of whisper white scrap and also on the Pumpkin Pie Circle. I only colored the branches on the Circle and then colored the owl and moon and die cut them out. I used dimensionals to pop these up over the image on the circle. I then added dimensionals to the back and added this over the glitter black piece. I stamped the sentiment on the banner with versamark ink and heat embossed with shimmery black embossing paste. I then added dimensionals to this and placed it even with the top and over from the left 1/2 in. I punched the bats from the black glitter paper and added to the banner and circle.

For the inside I stamped the sentiment and spider on the Whisper White paper then added the strips at the top and bottom and the bat in the lower left corner. I finished off the envelope flap with the strip of black glitter and the Plaid Tidings DSP. I glued a leftover bat to the lower left corner.

Here is the sketch I based this card off of:

Hope you have a great weekend! I‘m lucky, I get to watch my 4 month old granddaughter tomorrow. Nothing like being a grandparent!

Have a Hoot MojoMonday Sketch 545

Another hot and smoky day here in Nevada. Supposedly tomorrow is going to be in the low 70’s and the wind should blow all the smoke back to California. I am so looking forward to cooler weather! I’m working on my Halloween cards and for today’s card I decided to base it off of the MojoMonday sketch 545

I started with a Pumpkin Pie card base and added a piece of Whisper White cut to 4 x 5 1/4. I ran this through my Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine with the Cobwebs 3D embossing folder. I cut a piece of Plaid Tidings DSP to 2 1/4 by 5 1/4 and glued this over the embossed Whisper White piece.

I stamped Spooky from the Festive Corners stamp set on a strip of Pumpkin Pie cut to 3/4 by 4. I trimmed the end with the Banners Pick a Punch. I cut a piece of Bumblebee using my 2 1/2 in punch and stamped the owl from the Have a Hoot stamp set. I also stamped the image on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla. I colored the images using light and dark Crumb Cake, Mango Melody, Basic Black and Cinnamon Cider stampin’ blends. I then die cut the Very Vanilla images with the Peek-A-Hoot dies. I popped this up with dimensionals on the image stamped on the Bumblebee circle. I cut the spiderweb out of basic black with the same dies.

I glued the Bumblebee circle down about 2/3 on the DSP and 1 inch down. I used a glue dot to place the spiderweb down. I then used dimensionals to place the spooky banner even with the top and just under the owls wing. I added a few of the 2020-2021 in color enamel dots to finish off the front.

For the inside of my card I cut a piece of Whisper White to 4 x 5 1/4 added a couple strips of the DSP cut to 1/2 inch. I stamped the Boo from the Have a Hoot stamp set on Pumpkin Pie and trimmed it down and popped it up with dimensionals. I added a small spider that I had left over from another card. It was stamped from the Hallows Night Magic set.

I used the same DSP on a Whisper White envelope flap and stamped the spider on the front lower left corner and my card and envelope were done.

All the products used are available from my Stampin’ Up shop. Just click the Shop Stampin’ Up Now button on the top menu.  I would love to have you as a customer.

Arrange a Wreath Color Throwdown #609

It’s another hot day here. Not quite as hot as they had predicted, so far we are holding at 93. I can’t wait for cooler weather and healthy air quality. For the last several weeks we have had unhealthy air due to all the smoke blowing in from the California fires. We live in a valley just below the Sierra’s on the Nevada side and it seems we are on a direct path for the wind to blow the smoke in and then it just settles into the valley.

Since I have been pretty much housebound I have been crafting quite a lot. Today’s card was inspired by the Color Throwdown 609 challenge.

For my card today I started with a heavy whisper white card base. I then layered a piece of retired Blueberry Bushel paper cut to 4 1/8 x 5 3/8. On top of this I layered a piece of In Good Taste DSP cut to 4 x 5 1/4. I used the Wreath Builder Dies and cut the wreath out of Old Olive cardstock. I cut several large and small flowers out of Blueberry Bushel and Lovely Lipstick. I then glued the wreath down and used glue dots to randomly place the flowers around the wreath. I used champagne rhinestones for the middle of the flowers. I stamped the sentiment with Blueberry Bushel ink on a scrap of whisper white and trimmed it down and popped it up with dimensionals. I then used a piece of vanilla ribbon from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo pack and tied a bow and placed it in the bottom middle of the wreath with a glue dot. I added a few more champagne rhinestones on the card.

For the inside of the card I layered a whisper white piece cut to 4 x 5 1/4 on a piece of blueberry bushel cut to 4 1/8 x 5 3/8. I added a couple of leftover flowers from the front and stamped the sentiment from the   All Things Fabulous stamp set. I finished off a whisper white envelope with a piece of matching DSP.

Hope you all are having a great weekend and have found time to do some crafting!

All products used with the exception of the Blueberry Bushel cardstock and ink are available on my Stampin Up shopping page. I would recommend using our new color of Misty Moonlight in place of the Blueberry Bushel if you want to make a similar card. I would love to have you as a customer!

PINE WOODS HOLIDAY CARD FOR CAS(E) THIS SKETCH #388

It’s very hot this holiday weekend. Our thermometer is reading 105! I’m hoping by making a holiday card it will make me feel cooler. When I saw this sketch the Pine Woods dies immediately came to mind.

Here is the sketch my card was based off. I am entering this card in the case-this-sketch-388 challenge.

I started with a heavy whisper white card base then added a piece of shaded spruce cut to 4 1/8 x 5 3/8. I then cut a piece of ‘Tis The Season DSP to 4 x 5 1/4. I cut 3 trees from the Pine Woods Dies. I glued the largest down and then used dimensionals to pop up the 2 smaller outside trees. I then used a piece of gold ribbon which I ran across the bottom part of the trees. I stamped the sentiment from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set on a piece of whisper white with shaded spruce ink. I cut this out with a Hippo & Friends label die and then cut a piece of cherry cobbler a little larger to go behind. I used dimensionals to pop the label up in the middle of the ribbon. I added three iridescent pearls to finish off the card.

For the inside I cut 2 strips of the DSP and glued to the top and bottom and then stamped the sentiment from the Fireside Trimmings stamp set. I then cut a piece of the DSP to 6 x 2 1/4 and glued to the envelope flap.

If you would like to make this card all products are available from my Stampin Up shop. Just select the shop Stampin up now button on the menu at the top. I would love to have you as a customer.

Hope you all have a great holiday weekend!
